Dutch Waffles Recipe

Ingredients

  • 23 cup (150 g) butter, softened
  • 14 cup (50 g) sugar
  • 12 tsp vanilla extract
  • 6 eggs
  • 34 cup + 2 tbs (200 g) flour
  • 4 tsp rum (may substitute milk)
  • 23 cup (150 g) heavy cream
  • kosher salt
  • grease for waffle iron
  • powdered sugar

Directions

  1. Beat together butter, sugar, 1 pinch salt, and vanilla extract until fluffy. Beat in eggs one at a time. Sift flour over the top and stir in along with rum. Whip cream until semi stiff and fold in.
  2. Preheat waffle iron and grease cooking surfaces lightly. Spoon 3 tablespoons batter onto the center of the waffle iron and close.
  3. Bake each waffle for 2-3 minutes until golden brown. Transfer to a wire rack and dust with sifted powdered sugar while still warm. These waffles are delicious with hot chocolate or aromatic tea.
