Pantry ingredients A few lifesavers in the cupboard will help perk up meals in minutes .Scatter mixed olives over salad leaves. Serve caper berries with cooked meats and pâtés. Pickles and chutneys enhance cheese. Horseradish sauce goes well with smoked meats and fish. Mustards, honey, sweet and hot chilli sauces, and soy sauce, all make great dressing ingredients. A jar of mayonnaise is a must. Canned cooked pulses and beans, tuna, crab, or sardines make an instant meal, as do canned corn, bulgur wheat, or easy-soak noodles.
